About Nature Recovery
Build Back Nature
The Government has set a target to build back nature in a 25-Year-Environment Plan. However, time is not on our planet’s side and immediate action is needed. They are encouraging County Councils to define and implement Local Nature Recovery Strategies to deliver a Nature Recovery Network across the country.

But it is not the people at the top who will make this work, it is you and me, us ordinary people who are the key to the future.
Make it Happen
Andy Millar, Natural England senior advisor for nature recovery in Norfolk and Suffolk recently ended an article with: ‘A Nature Recovery Network will be constructed both from the top and bottom, from the very large to the very small, including the small steps we take individually at home that together we build into something bigger.

That is a call to all of us ordinary people to make it happen.
The First Steps
A Town Council in Norfolk took a bold step to define the entire parish as a nature recovery area in their Neighbourhood Plan. They then set up a Working Party to kick start delivery from the bottom up, small steps we can take at home. This is now being replicated elsewhere.

The model is simple. Town and Parish councils define their parish as a nature recovery area. They endorse our nature recovery, encourage the community to come together and act, and support them in delivery.
The Voice of the People
'Our Nature Recovery' is a common badge under which people across the country can come together to voice what is being done by us ordinary people.
It is a platform for people to share thoughts and experience; to work together, unencumbered by layers of bureaucracy; and to show that the ordinary people do care and wish to be involved.
