Big Garden Birdwatch is the world’s largest garden wildlife survey. Every year, hundreds of thousands of nature lovers take part, helping to build a picture of how garden birds are faring. This year it will take place between 26 - 28 January.
While House Sparrows took the top spot last year these chirpy birds are down by 57% compared to the first Birdwatch in 1979. With birds facing so many challenges, it’s more important than ever to get involved in the Birdwatch.
You can take part in the Birdwatch by simply counting the birds that land in your garden and going online to record what you saw. However, many people prefer to use a guide, and you can sign up to get yours now: https://www.rspb.org.uk/whats-happening/big-garden-birdwatch
